Dr. Meredith Welch-Devine (she/her) is an ecological anthropologist who studies how people perceive the changing climate and how they think about possible futures. As an Associate Professor at the University of Georgia, she frequently collaborates with scientists from other disciplines and currently leads a large, international and transdisciplinary project (through the NSF DISES program) in which pastoralists are full partners in the project design and execution. In addition to designing and implementing deeply collaborative research with local partners, Welch-Devine also has a strong focus on graduate education. She is Assistant Dean of the Graduate School at UGA and participates in several different research projects designed to enhance graduate student training. Return to Who We Are
