Dr. Rachid Belmasrour (he/him) is an Associate Professor of Mathematics. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Morocco, an M.S. degree in Mathematical Informatics from the University of Versailles Saint Quentin, France, and both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics from the University of New Orleans (UNO). During his Ph.D. studies, he began lecturing as a part-time teaching assistant at UNO. Upon completion of his Ph.D., he joined the faculty at Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO), where he transitioned to full-time lecturing. Actively involved in mentoring students and integrating them into research, he is proud to have been awarded a DOE grant for minority-serving institutions, which he has made available to undergraduate students demonstrating outstanding performance. Belmasrour’s research interests include cotton Fiber Length Distribution, Statistical Computing, Statistical Consulting, and Biostatistics. He has also conducted research on Cotton Fiber Length Distribution at the United States Department of Agriculture, Division of Cotton Structure and Quality. Return to Who We Are
